I was born in the town of Huddersfield, but was raised and have lived most of my life in nearby Rotherham. I attended Brinsworth Comprehensive School, which was where my love of art and design really started manifesting. I studied at Chesterfield College of Art and Design and progressed to Liverpool John Moores University where, inbetween jaunts to The Jacaranda club and The Pilgrim public house, I managed to find time to complete a degree in Graphic Arts, attaining a 2:1.

Since graduating and going into professional practice, I have worked for Sheffield Hallam University and co-created a children's book, my first major publishing project, which was released in 2009, in addition to many other commissions for small businesses and individuals. I have exhibited my work in London and held my first solo exhibition in 2007. My greetings cards and prints are sold in multiple venues around Sheffield.

My work has its roots in traditional craft illustration and fine art, drawing influences from such practitioners as Egon Schiele, Alfred Sisley, Arthur Rackham, Maurice Sendak, Ronald Searle, Ralph Steadman and the Preraphaelites. I am currently much interested in scientific and analytical drawings of insects and plant life and am working on incorporating these influences into my portfolio. My subject matter is drawn mainly from fairytales, historical figures and the natural world, but basically my mantra is if it's interesting, I'll draw it.
